A poem written in my freshman year

Rainbow

By Sunny Park

We are born like this.
We have to shine bright,
like a thesis.

Of course,
Some disappear.
Like a failure in a course.

We are all born with a color,
A color that is us.
But now, we only have an eraser.

And others force us to make a vow.
“We are beautiful,”
“like a rainbow.”

My Favorite Poem

Invictus

By William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed,

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

A Little Letter

By Sunny Park

God, I placed a little letter in front of your door.

Because I keep hearing these demons begging,
"Please, save me
"I hate my brother,"
"You don't understand my pain God,"
"Please, kill my brothers."

The demons are mourning loudly and endlessly,
enough to make me confuse,
whether that sound of the squeaky door is them weeping."

I higher my volume of my songs to make me distracted.
But did I distract myself too much?
Instead of hearing the harmonizing melody,
all I hear is a dead cacophony

*God, I placed a little letter in front of your door,

but you never answered.

Now, I trespass your property,
to find what happened to you.

Favorite Quote by a Greek Philosopher Epicurus

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?
